I don't think Bethany could stay still long enough to save her life, but Sundays are the worsyt considering our physical activity consist of walking to church and home from church.
She was bouncing all the place while we were being lazy and watching tv (she was watching her kindle) so Mark told her to go over to the couch--I wish I had a movie camera (well, I do, but it takes quite a set up). She laid on the couch watching her kindle while wriggling and jiggling and kicking her legs; next time I look over she is still watching the kindle but its turned so she can be in the rocking chair and hanging over the arm of the couch. She finally gave up trying to be in one place and started playing with her "my little pony" toys; which is a whole topic unto its self.
Maybe I can do something about my crazy schedule this summer and make sure to be able to take her for some walks and allow her to expand her imagination outside.
She is so beautiful (I know we aren't supposed to refer to a girls physical beauty, but hers is more than that)...she has so much energy and imagination and her views are just so astounding and unique and make me think...I just need to make sure that who she is now continues to be cultivated and not stifled or shut down by those already blinded by the world.

I sleep my best sleep when we are camping (said me never) June 07, 2013 10:30 pm
Not again. Here I am, the last one awake and no longer feeling a bit sleepy. There were a couple time earlier I could have fallen asleep but the kids were being too rambunctious....then everyone was drifting off to sleep and I thought "yes....this is finally the night I get some sleep while camping." But Bethany was feeling nervous thinking she heard footsteps and people laughing (although we were right near a stream so other than an occasional large rock/boulder being tumbled along). I finally got her settled down (or so I thought...she was restless all through the night...one time she said in her sleep "Can somebody help me?" It was so cute). So basically here I am wide awake with no computer down the hall...no midnight snack...or better yet no midnight snack while on the computer ; and now its dark and I'm hearing things.
Finally after a month off we were off on a backpacking/camping trip. This time we were going to check out Third Left Hand up Monroe Canyon. We have a Stake Hike coming up at the end of June so we wanted to check out the trail and see how the water crossings are looking and if they are still up.
I always thought that Third Left Hand was my favorite trail to hike on since it doesn't ascend too fast and there is a lot of vegetation and shade along with water to pump so you don't have to carry a lot with you. Well I had forgotten how much the vegetation is a pain (stinging nettles) and the bugs--don't get me started but their are bugs EVERYWHERE!!!
Even though we didn't get as much snow this year as some in the past there is still enough run off that its washed away a couple of crossings and forced one of the crossings through thick ant covered vegetation so the hiking part was cut short and we decided to just get out of Dodge and hopefully not go back until late summer/early fall remembering why we don't hike up there in spring and summer...just after the cold snaps and during winter with the ice and snow.
So next time I'll have to make like a camel and find some humps to pack my water in (& die from the weight); but we'll avoid the bugs and stinging nettle for a couple of months.

Fall 2012
ok...so hopefully this post won't be all there is for "Fall 2012"...but looking back at my last post it just might be all there is for 2012. So glad the blog is still here as there are some cute things in here about my kids that I ought to save elsewhere.
A little catch up...this summer was busy with Mark working at the High School and Noelle and the kids involved in Little Green Valley Fun activites--we didn't even go hiking this summer (GASP!). School has now started and Mark is still busy at the High School; in addition to his regular work he has responsibilities over the football field as well. Noelle is the PTO President this year and so thankful that she has a GREAT committe to help her get everything accomplished. It is going to be a great year at Monroe elementary. And speaking of Monroe Elementary...Talmage is in his last year there as a 5th grader in Mrs Jackson's class and Bethany is in 2nd grade in Mrs Jones' class. They are both excited and loving it and being kept busy with Soccer after school & on Saturdays.

Autumn 2010
I have yet to get in here and update anything. Not that there is any thing exciting in our lives, but sometimes the kids do cute or funny things and we do have some good times together. I had a brief scare as I thought I should log in and check on this blog and it told me there was no such account but the name was available--luckily I had just typed it in wrong.
The kids are happy and hyper and driving me crazy :) Talmage loves third grade and likes his teacher Mr Winn; Bethany loves (I think) kindergarten and really likes being in Mrs Elmers class. Mark and I help out in the classes and at the school as much as we kind--we like to be hands on in the kids education and we also want to help the school. We've enjoyed this beautiful fall weather and all the hiking we've been able to do, but Mark is glad that it has cooled down. I love to see the Snow on the mountains and the trees and enjoy snuggling inside to keep warm--but as soon as we can (and there is enough snow) the snuggling will stop and we will be snow shoeing.

We're not dead yet....
Since its been more than a year I thought I'd better post something. I am working on a year in review to cover some of whats been happening since last June; like all our hikes, our snow shoeing, our holidays and our nothing days. Until then, in the words of George Michael "...You gotta to have faith..."

Wass' happenin'
Lets see, my last post was May 12 and I am sure things have happened since then that I have been meaning to post, but at the moment I can't think just what.
However, school got out on May 29--Talmage is happy and sad (and so is the rest of the family).
We went to Salt Lake before that to attend a Temple Sealing of Marks best friend Jason Davis and his wife Erin and their two girls--this was great fun and we need to do it more often, for more days and to be better organized. We did manage to stop by the old neighborhood and see the Bytheways (I can't believe how big Natalie is, but since she is the same age as Talmage then it would just make sense that she would be growing up), not to mention the 3 more bambinos that have been added to the mix. Talmage and Bethany LOVED it and want to go back (Bethany kept saying she wanted to go back to the"playhouse").
One of Talmage's friends moved to Vernal lately but came to Monroe for his little sisters birthday party (lots of friends and family still here) so we went to that--it was so much fun and so good to see everyone again.
Yesterday we went to my sister's house (Jody), as her daughter Katie had put in papers for a Mission and she is going to Arcadia, CA (the same place her brother Andy went, except for the language), Spanish speaking.
Today, my mom tripped and tumbled down the front steps--a bit of trauma for the kids who were there and saw it (mine were in the house), and she doesn't look to good. I took some pictures at the urging of my father, but as a courtesy to my mother I won't post them; however, I did tell her she would look at place in a haunted house. She said its too bad its not Halloween 'cause she could answer the door "Trick or Treat" -- scare the kids to death. Bethany didn't like what she saw when my mom got home and was very worried about her for a while and the "gross" blood--she also wanted to wash the blood off of my dads shoes..."that bad blood shouldn't be there"
I guess thats it for now. Maybe someday I will actually post something on time--probably not!

Bethany's teeth
Bethany had quite a few cavaties--Talmage did too, but he was so good and sat so still that the Dentist just did his in his office, but Bethany had to go to the hospital to be put out and have hers fixed.
So, today was the day. She told me last night she didn't want to go see the Doctor today and she didn't want to go see the Dentist. When we go to Richfield she wasn't happy that we had passed the Doctor's office--that's where she wanted to go.
She didn't want to do a lot of the stuff they kept asking her to do--she didn't want to sit on the bed, she didn't want to change her clothes--she would just say "No, I don't want to" very calmly and that was it.
We were able to get her to change her clothes, then gave her the verced and then took her to the bathroom and on the way back she started getting silly (the meds), then we got her on the bed and got her to lay down so that she didn't fall--we turned the tv on for her and let her watch that as she got sillier and the nurse said that she might start seeing things on the walls. She did get silly and had a hard time talking, but she definitely wanted "Handy Manny" back on after the nurse turned off the tv. She was also looking at the light and doing funny things and got upset any time her dads hands got in the way. After is was over, before she woke up; the anesthesiologist stopped in to tell us she was really cute and singing "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" before she went under the gas (she always tells me that is her favorite song).
She was a little sad and miserable for the first little while after waking up, but she never did throw up. The minute Talmage got home--everything was all better. She sure loves her brother and he made everything better for her. She was also up and going 100 miles an hour, except she would stop everyonce in a while to cuddle. She also resisted going to sleep until she couldn't handle it any longer--I think she was a little nervous.
